Centro de Lima
The Cercado de Lima District locally known as Cercado de Lima because it represents the old part of the city, which used to be walled. It is the locatin of the main institutions of the country. It is connected to the Plaza de Armas through the commercial Jiron de la Union Street. It was inaugurated in 1921 to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the official declaration of independence. It is one of the main green areas of the city. It is recommended that you visit it at night to truly appreciate the show put on by its huge water fountains, and performed in tandem to music and lights. |
